NLC SAYS FEDERAL GOVERNMENT HAS WITHDRAWN ‘CONTEMPT OF COURT’ SUIT AGAINST LABOUR

Federal Government has withdrawn its contempt suit against organised labour in light of last Wednesday’s nationwide protests against the high cost of living.

This is according to the NLC President Joe Ajaero in a monitored television interview.

Ajaero conveyed that the NLC’s National Executive Committee has decided to respond to the stance taken by the Industrial Court and the Ministry of Justice. This response is planned to be coordinated through the Solicitor General of the Federation.
He also shed light on organised labour’s private meeting with President Bola Tinubu in Abuja last Wednesday.

He said that the President attempted to reduce the presidential fleet, among other decisions aimed at reducing the cost of governance.
