Abia Govt Inaugurates Committee For Local Security Outfits

A Seven-Man Screening Committee for Abia Vigilante Service (AVS) and Abia State Homeland Security Watch has been inaugurated by the Abia State Government with a charge for the members to live up to their mandate.

Inaugurating the committee at Government House, Umuahia, the Chief of Staff to the Governor, Pastor Caleb Ajagba disclosed that constituting the committee became necessary because, if the people who are supposed to midwife security are indiscipline and not organized to effect the mandate of security, security would become a collosal failure.

Pastor Ajagba underscored the importance of screening the Abia Vigilante Service (AVS) and Abia State Homeland Security Watch to achieve optimal security goals.

The committee has its terms of reference to include; verifying and flushing out ghost workers, confirm their geographical spread, determine their levels of para-military training among others.
