Three Persons Injured As A Two-Storey Building Caved In Along Okilton Drive In Ada George Of Port Harcourt

Three persons were injured when a two-storey building caved in along Okilton Drive in Ada George of Port Harcourt this morning.

It was learnt that some of the workers at the site were trapped in the building which was under construction.

An eyewitness who gave his name as Tonye said they heard a loud sound just about the break of dawn which frightened residents.

While saying that the cause of the collapse could not be immediately ascertained, he stated that some of the workers on the site were living in the building.

A female resident who did not want her name mentioned said when they approached the scene of the incident, they saw a man crawling out of the building and people quickly rescued him.

Meanwhile, Rivers State governor, Siminialayi Fubara, has ordered immediate investigations into the collapse of a building in Port Harcourt which left four victims injured.

Governor Fubara, represented by the Commissioner for Special Projects, Chukwuemeka Woke, after swift inspection ordered urgent investigation on the incident.

He sympathised with four injured victims he met as he visited the hospital where doctors assured they would be discharged in a few days as they were already in stable condition.

The state government has urgently mobilised earth-moving equipment to the site to evacuate the debris of the collapsed building and the site cordoned off.
