Manufacturers Association Boss Backs Federal Government On Removal Of Petrol Subsidy
The Director General, Manufacturers Association of Nigeria, Segun Ajayi has expressed support for the removal of fuel subsidy by the Federal Government notwithstanding the immediate impact on the economy and citizens.
Ajayi in an interview argued that continued payment of subsidy on fuel would impact negatively on critical sectors while the foreign economy grows.
He said the government should do more in communicating its plans to cushion the impact of subsidy removal on transportation, electricity generation and distribution as well as other pay points.
He advised the government to meet with the organized labor to avert planned industrial action.
