Abia NLC Restates Resolve To Continue Ongoing Workers Strike Until Outstanding Salaries Are Fully Paid

Meanwhile, in view of the ongoing strike action embarked upon by the Nigerian Labour Congress Abia State chapter, the union has stated it’s resolve not to call off the ongoing strike until the Government settles all outstanding salaries to civil servants in the state.

This was disclosed in a telephone interview with ENYIMBA FM Umuahia correspondent Kingsley Chibuike by the state’s acting chairman of the NLC, Comrade Pascal Nweke.

Comrade Nweke stated that he had declined to meet with the government for any negotiations as it is unnecessary, stating that until workers in the state begin to receive payments, there will be no meeting and any form of end to the strike action.

ENYIMBA FM recall NLC declared the strike action in Abia State at midnight 8th of May, 2023.
