Buhari Inaugurate New Power Substation Project In Akwa Ibom State

President Muhammadu Buhari has performed a groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of 2×30/40MVA substation in Ibiono Ibom Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State.

President Buhari said the substation worth 6.8 billion naira would improve power generation and supply to the people of the area.

The President represented by the Minister of State for Power, Prince Goddy Jeddy-Agba said the 2x30MVA substation was in fulfillment of his campaign promises to Akwa Ibom people.

He said the contract for the engineering, procurement, and construction of 2×30/40MVA substation was awarded in favour of M/S Jamec West Africa Ltd with a completion period of 18 months.

The President gave assurance that the project would improve service delivery and strengthen the national grid by increasing its wheeling capacity to 25, 000MW by 2025.
