Gunmen have attacked a convoy of a former governor of Imo State, Ikedi Ohakim, and reportedly killed four of his police details in the process.
The convoy was said to have been attacked at Oriagu in Ehime Mbano Local Government Area of the state on Monday.
Ohakim, who escaped narrowly, had his backup vehicle attacked, leading to the death of the four policemen.
Ohakim was with two of his children and was returning from a visit when the gunmen struck.
Efforts made to get the reaction of the spokesperson for the police in the state, Michael Abattam, proved abortive as he had yet to return calls made to his telephone line as of the time of filing this report.
