The Executive Secretary, NHRC, Chief Tony Ojukwu has condemned the killing of a female lawyer-NHRC

In a related development, the Executive Secretary, National Human Rights Commission, NHRC, Chief Tony Ojukwu has condemned the killing of a female lawyer Bolanle Raheem by a policeman in Ajah Lagos State.

In a statement by the Deputy Director Corporate Affairs and External Linkages of the NHRC, Hajiya Fatimah Agwai-Mohammed, the commission describes the killing of Bolanle Raheem by a policeman who is expected to protect the citizens as unfortunate.

According to the statement, the officer has fallen short of standard operating procedure and professional ethics of the Nigerian Police Force.

Chief Ojukwu, calls on the hierarchy of the Nigerian Police as a matter of necessity, ensure that officers who bear arms must, by all means be mentally balanced and respect the rules of engagement of the police force.
